The concert on Friday night registered the highest level of movement at 23.4 nanometres, with Saturday and Sunday’s shows not far behind at 22.8 nm and 23.3 nm respectively.
According to the UK’s national earthquake monitoring agency, certain songs like “Ready For It?”, “Cruel Summer”, and “Champagne Problems” were responsible for generating the most seismic activity each night. Hits like “Shake It Off”, “But Daddy I Love Him”, and “Getaway Car” also received honorable mentions for their impact on the vibrating stadium.
During Friday’s performance of “Ready For It?”, the vibrations reached a staggering 160 beats per minute, equivalent to approximately 80 kW of power. To put this into perspective, the British Geological Survey compared it to the energy output of 10-16 car batteries. Despite the impressive numbers, it was reported that the vibrations were likely only felt by those in the immediate vicinity of the stadium.
After the concert series in Scotland, Taylor Swift took to Instagram to thank her fans for breaking the all-time attendance record for a stadium show in Scotland three times in a row. With a minimum of 73,000 people in attendance at each show, Swift’s concerts now hold the title for the most-attended in Scottish history. This is not the first time Swift’s tours have caused seismic activity, as her concerts in Seattle in July 2023 also generated the equivalent of a 2.3 magnitude earthquake.
Swift’s Eras Tour has been a monumental success, with the recent milestone of the 100th show marking a bittersweet realization for the artist. She confirmed that the tour will come to an end in December after three final shows in Vancouver.
