Patrick Carroll, a gun-obsessed real estate mogul based in Miami, found himself in trouble once again when he was arrested for driving under the influence and weapons possession in Los Angeles. The dramatic scene of Carroll getting out of his car and attempting to flee from the police was caught by local news helicopters. Despite his efforts to escape, the officers were able to apprehend him quickly. Carroll’s representative did not provide any comments regarding the incident.
Carroll, who reportedly signed a deal to sell his company for $80 million, has been no stranger to scandal in recent times. In March, Miami police responded to reports of gunshots at his mansion. Videos also surfaced of Carroll firing off rounds from a boat, claiming they were blanks. This led to his detainment under the Baker Act, a Florida law that allows authorities to take individuals in for psychiatric evaluation if there are concerns about their well-being or the safety of others. A judge ordered a “risk protection order” for Carroll, forcing him to surrender his guns.
Aside from his legal troubles, Carroll has also been involved in several controversial incidents. He was banned from popular Miami restaurants, including Carbone, after allegedly spitting on a host who confronted him about hitting on a woman there. In August 2022, he was reportedly involved in a brawl at an after-party for a Unicef gala in Italy, where he had previously donated $1.5 million. However, he later denounced the organization as “fraudulent,” claiming that his donation did not go to Unicef as intended.
Carroll’s erratic behavior has extended to public outbursts as well. In February, he spent a significant amount at Tom Ford to secure an invitation to the luxury brand’s Milan fashion show, only to try and return the clothes after the event. When confronted with this incident, Carroll responded by telling Page Six, “F**k you!” His actions have consistently landed him in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons, tarnishing his public image and reputation.
