Los Angeles Clippers chairman Steve Ballmer is pulling out all the stops for a star-studded bash to celebrate the grand opening of the team’s new home at Intuit Dome. He has gathered an impressive list of high-profile names, including pop star Meghan Trainor, actress Sophia Bush, and comedian Chelsea Handler, to mark the launch of the innovative concert and sports arena in Inglewood, Calif.
To kick off the evening, Ballmer and Gillian Zucker, CEO of Halo Sports and Entertainment, will host a special ribbon-cutting ceremony on the campus’ 80,000-square-foot outdoor plaza. The event will feature appearances by notable guests such as Inglewood Mayor James T. Butts, Clippers player Kawhi Leonard, and head coach Tyronn Lue.
After the ceremony, Trainor, Bush, Handler, and other celebrities will make their way to the Intuit Dome, located just south of the renowned SoFi Stadium, for the venue’s first-ever red carpet event. The Clippers broke ground on the Intuit Dome in September 2021, with a reported $2 billion investment in the project. Ballmer has expressed his enthusiasm for the arena’s state-of-the-art facilities, particularly highlighting the bathrooms. In a video shared on social media, he marveled at the sheer number of toilets and urinals in the arena, three times the NBA average, emphasizing the importance of providing a top-notch experience for attendees without any waiting around.
